Not sure about Sun, but they do take reservations
Salmon benedict is tasty! The caramelized onions added a good touch!
La Marsa was an absolute treasure of a find during the crazy Dreamforce week. We ended up dining there two nights in a row! At first, I was a bit skeptical of the small menu, but once the dishes started coming out from the kitchen it was evident that the menu was incredibly thought out and well-considered.I can't recommend this place enough.
Wife and I were reading the menu through the window, before a show, and the place was full. The waiter noticed us and came out. I said I guess they’re full and he pointed to a tiny table for two, perfect for both of us to people watch. We ordered drinks and the vegetarian entree. The meal was honestly the best vegetarian meal I’ve had, and we’ve been vegetarians for a while. The service was excellent and the ambiance relaxed but upscale. We will be back, show or not. Delightful.
A tiny spot with quick service and great food. I loved the egghead benedict, with smoked salmon, carmelized onions, capers, and hollandaise. Plus, they have almond milk and soy milk. I definitely recommend it!
Absolutely Amazing food!!! 10 stars. Stubbled upon this place by happy accident, The menu was posted on door and caught our eye. The braised beef is phenomenal. A must try.
Love this find! We were in town visiting and needed a last minute reservation before going to the theater. We were accommodated and welcomed upon our arrival. The menu is small, but don't let that worry you. There is something for everyone. We had 5 people in our party and we would have ordered one of everything, but 2 people in our party would not give up their order. :) Everything we had was delicious! The desserts were amazing! Best baklava I have ever had - not too sweet. The service was great and even though it was busy, the owner took time to talk to us and answer our questions. If you are looking for a great little spot with amazing food and wine - this is it. (Side note, there was a couple that came in much after us and needed to eat quickly before the theater. They were accommodated and their orders were taken quickly. We bumped into them at the play and they were so happy to be taken care of in a hurry and commented on how great their dinners were!)
Nice atmosphere, very friendly people and great Comfort food. Fantastic beef short rib. My husband and I enjoyed it and we will definitely come back.
Loved the atmosphere- romantic, warm & inviting. The staff was friendly and welcoming, enjoyed my experience and very pleased. Highly recommend the baklava.
Great flavors, good food.
Great food, awesome owner. Thanks!
Fantastic! Would recommend to anyone visiting and will definitely go back if I am ever in San Francisco again. Had the beef short rib which was fantastic. I am not sure if the guy was the owner but her was extremely friendly and fun. The baklava was phenomenal. 5 stars and two thumbs up.
Great food and friendly service! Pleasantly surprised at how good this place is. The food was top notch including the complimentary. The salad was quite nice and the dessert was very good.
Excellent little spot for breakfast. Crepes taste fantastic. They do have gluten free options as well. Would definitely go back
Great experience and food. Small restaurant. Small menu. Everything is delicious. Just go.
Super nice place, good food. Nice waiter
The food was wonderful. I loved the ambiance
Fantastic dishes! Because so thoughtfully prepared. Attentive staff; good wine selection. Responsive to vegan dietary needs.
Perfectly poached eggs, flavorful sausage, super clean, plus the best mocha I've ever had in my life.
The food was hit-or-miss. The lamb shank was phenomenal - really tender and flavorful. However, the snapper was overcooked, not filling, and composed of various ingredients that didn't work well together.Asides from the entrees - the wine list and appetizers seemed overpriced, but I would go back for the lamb shank!
Very nice late morning breakfast. Good selection of omelets, salads, crepes, so can meet lots of different tastes. Friendly team and casual relaxed vibe.
I recommend you go on a Monday or Tuesday night. Last night, we almost had the the restaurant to ourselves. Other evenings are booked solid and hard to reserve.. I enjoyed the stuffed eggplant (delightful! it was stuffed with a perfectly seasoned harissa sauce, rice, and a vast variety of perfectly cooked veggies, topped with just the right amount of cheese and garnished with cilantro-- served piping hot, by the way). My dinner partner had an appetizer (lamb riblets topped with pesto, crostini on the side-- the lamb was tender and quite flavorful). The owner took time to talk about his harissa sauce (even letting us sample it), his specially-made taable powder, and the skills he learned at the apron of his mother and grandmother. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Hidden gem in Union Square area. From outside, the restaurant doesn’t tell you much. Their menu is pretty short, BUT everything they serve is prepared to perfection! The lamb riblets appetizer is literately melting in your mouth! Incredible flavor! Both the short ribs and the crusted snapper main dishes, are to go back for! Very, very tasty! The baklava dessert exceeded our expectations also! Great collection of wines. Lovely relaxing atmosphere.Thank you for our delicious dinner! We will be back!
A carefully curated menu awaits you, full of Tunisian comfort food and inspired tastes. Intimate dining, open kitchen, knowledgeable and attentive host. Highly recommend giving La Marsa a try. The service is fast but give yourself time to enjoy the detail of the dishes.
A great Tunisian Food Experience. This is a small boutique restaurant with awesome selection of food and friendly staff.
Very authentic taste. Awesome food and services.
Get the lamb. You won't regret it. Service is great and I love the restaurant's setup. It's small but that makes it better in my opinion.
A small place, with the most delicious food. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is cozy. I mostly recommend you try and have fun
Great intimate restaurant by Union sq. I dined here twice by myself and the owner was so friendly, the lamb shank was exquisite, all at very reasonable prices.
Was out looking for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Two places were packed. Looked at the menu, and we went in. Great host, friendly and capable. Eggs Benedict and an omelet. Both delicious. Highly recommend
Great place to hang out. Looks fancy and attractive, and it’s so much fun to especially sit by window, great building to watch right across the street.I only had baklava here, it was a unique style from Tunusia, I suggest visiting this place just for baklava if nothing else, and if you are a dessert lover :)
Lovely owner and place. Tunisian/Mediterranean food, clean and fresh with vegetarian option(s). We walked in before a show, no reservations-luck, which i would recommend. Enjoy a drink or conversation as you wait for your meal, preparation takes time and worth waiting for.Our meal: Deviled eggs starter. Roasted Eggplant and Snapper.
This new restaurant serves delicious food and good wine. Perfect for pre-theatre dining. It’s cozy, not a very big place. Service is quick and charming.
I am in town for a conference and found this gem around the corner from where I'm staying. I came for the Shakshuka my first morning here, and I have eaten breakfast here every morning since. I've had the savory crepes, the eggs benedict, and enjoyed them all! The mocha is insanely good, as is their iced tea. Clean friendly, cozy.
The menu called out to me from the street. I entered skeptical that the food would just sound good on paper but lack any true delight....MY GOSH!!!! LISTEN, THE FOOD HERE IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! SHEESH! On top of the flavors being bright, spicy and combined just right, the staff's serving etiquette is top notch! Every need is anticipated and carefully executed. The chef is also handsome! I referred a guest in the hotel where I was staying and his reaction to the food was even more intense delight than me!!! I had the deviled eggs with shrimp and the spicy seafood stew. Amazing!
The brunch we had was exquisite, excellent grab Benedict, veggie eggs plate with squash and zucchini, crepe caramel//Nutella special as recommended by the Chef, we def are coming back.
Great atmosphere, great music, and most importantly the food is AMAZING. The menu is not long, but who needs a list of options when you have a handful of melt in your mouth to-die-for dishes. The first bite will have you savoring every last spoonful of goodness. We had the short ribs, and lamb shanks. The meat melts in your mouth and is cooked to perfection. If you want five star gourmet food that not only tastes good but the presentation is beautiful- go to La Marsa! The place is small so be sure to call for reservations.
Exceptional Dinner! We were in town for a conference and happened to walk by one day. Noticed that the menu looked interesting and came back that evening. The meal was exceptional. The Tunisian deviled eggs are unique and very tasted. My colleague had the braised beef while I chose the lamb shank - both dishes were perfectly prepared and very tasty, as were the baklava and creme brûlée desserts. Lovely atmosphere, excellent waiter, couldn’t have asked for a better or more enjoyable evening.
Excellent dinner at La Marsa. perfect location, nice decor, food was fresh and perfectly cooked and the owner welcomed us warmly and explained us the story behind every dish.
Great food, really welcoming
Great little spot. Reasonably priced dishes too with a biriyani bowl for under $10 in the lunch menu.Good service and nice ambiance.Only complaint would be the strong incense smell that can be a little overpowering.
Excellent place for adventurous North African dishes with a California twist. Seat at the bar to chat with chef and owner and select from small menu. Recommended.
It is a small place that's easily looked over, but the owner is very nice and the food is very tasty. The owner seems to be doing this all by himself and even though he's obviously busy, you still feel welcome and well looked after.
Great service and food. The atmosphere was very relaxing and cozy on a rainy evening.
The Criminal Eggs Benedict is the most delicious breakfast dish I have EVER tasted!! The egg is perfectly done, the hollandaise sauce is "lick your plate clean delicious!!!"
I am Tunisian and this is by far the best Tunisian food experience overseas.Central location, cozy restaurant, fun staff, cool chill out music. Just PERFECT!
Dimly lit Cozy spot with a concise menu and delicious authentic options. Baklava was one of the best I've had in a while. Owner is fun and welcoming. #romantic
Fantastic food, good service, shocked it was not full on a Friday night as it is a small place.
Really good food.
I randomly walked in here while between meetings, and I was instantly greeted by the owner. The atmosphere is small and cozy, with music that is not too loud and guests that are clearly enjoying their food and wine. I'd continue to elaborate, but it's a must-try-for-yourself type of place. For your own benefit, please get the short rib, you will not be disappointed!
The food was super delicious and the staff super friendly and welcoming. It's a cozy restaurant in the heart of the downtown with a Mediterranean flavor. Will come back again for sure!
